ONE TWO SIX fencing club was founded in 2002 by Jo Maynard. Training sessions were held in the function room over trendy bar 'One Two Six' in Clapham, but One Two Six Fencing Club very quickly out-grew its original venue and we now train in Shepherd's Bush and in Barnes.
Fencing sessions involve fun and informative training with Commonwealth Silver Medallist, British No. 1 and six times World Championship fencer Jo Maynard, who was also involved in the making of the James Bond film "Die Another Day", as the fencing double for Bond girl, Rosamund Pike.
Sessions are also coached by Marc Bengry, with four Commonwealth Medals to his name he was British Team Captain to the Junior European Squad 2006. Marc has been fencing for over 30 years and his experience within the sport will be of great value to fencers of all levels.
We have a thriving Junior section at One Two Six, allowing fencers over the age of 13 to train alongside the adult fencers, and a new Junior Development Squad of fencers aged 6-12, coached by Marc Bengry.
Beginner sessions are always available. If you would like to start fencing, please see our 'Beginners' page for more information.
